{"id":3075,"date":"2021-06-17T19:50:00","date_gmt":"2021-06-17T09:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/yowani.miclub.com.au\/cms\/?p=3075"},"modified":"2023-06-26T17:45:05","modified_gmt":"2023-06-26T07:45:05","slug":"preffered-lies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yowani.com.au\/cms\/2021\/06\/preffered-lies\/","title":{"rendered":"Preferred lies Through General Area 1 club length"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Due to the overall wet condition of the golf course Preferred Lies now apply throughout the General Area.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Preferred Lies through the General Area due to Winter Conditions <\/u><\/strong>(Model Local Rule E-3)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Throughout the General Area, place the ball within one club-length no nearer the hole<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u2018Through the green\u2019 the golf course is very wet and the rough and fairway grass is longer than standard. There are also places where mud is adhering to golf balls.\u00a0Until conditions for fair play can be restored, preferred lies apply in the general area (ie the previous \u2018Though the Green\u2019 provision).<\/p>\n<p>When a player\u2019s ball lies in a part of the general area, the player may take free relief once by <u>placing<\/u> the original ball or another ball (as per <strong>Rule 14.2<\/strong>) in and playing it from this relief area:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>Reference Point<\/u>: Spot of the original ball<\/li>\n<li><u>Size of Relief Area Measured from Reference Point<\/u>: one club length from the reference point, but with these limits:\n<ul>\n<li>must not be nearer the hole than the reference point, and<\/li>\n<li>must be in the <em>general area<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The ball may be cleaned when lifted.\u00a0 It is good practice to mark the original spot of the ball, but it is not compulsory.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PENALTY FOR PLAYING BALL FROM A WRONG PLACE IN BREACH OF LOCAL RULE:\u00a0 <em>General Penalty<\/em><\/strong> under Rule 14.7a.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Match Committee <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Grounds and Greens Committee <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>29 July 2021<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Due to the overall wet condition of the golf course Preferred Lies now apply throughout the General Area.
